Biographical history

Sister John Mary Lane (1903-2000) was born Kathleen Lane in Spokane, Washington. She earned a doctorate at St. Mary's Academy, Notre Dame, Indiana. She taught high school in Washington, was principal of St. Mary's Academy, 1943-49, then a professor of scripture and theology at Marylhurst College. In 1978 she was awarded the Aubrey R. Waztek Award by Lewis & Clark College. In 1994 she created the Sister John Mary Lane lectureship Series.
