Negatives documenting company activities, including electrical infrastructure, employees, power generation and distribution throughout Portland, the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Cascade Range. Additional general images include streetcars and trains, street lighting, power line installation, Rose Festival floats, office buildings, car barns and bridges. Of particular note are dam building projects at Bull Run and along the Clackamas River (1910-1930), and early electric stations in Oregon City at Willamette Falls.

Lewis and Clark Salt Works - Seaside, Oregon

Photograph of the Lewis and Clark Salt Works in Seaside, Oregon. A sign in the middle of the salt works reads, "Site of Salt Cairn Used by Lewis and Clark 1805-6." A wooden fence made of tree branches stands around the perimeter of the monument. There are many rocks on the site. Stamp on lower right of print reads, "Gifford and Prentiss, Portland, Oregon. 1751."

Yasui Brothers store sign for noodles

Painted store sign for "egg noodle and plain noodle". The egg noodle is priced at 15 cents per pound, and plain noodle 10 cents per pound. The sign is hand-painted on 4.5 x 8 in. cardboard.

Ioka farm

A photograph showing a sign post at Ioka farm. The first sign reads "1/2 mile to the log cut by the Chinook Tribe of Indians more than 100 years ago, according to word handed down by the early settlers."
