The Hardings’ visit to Portland was part of a trip across the nation and followed a stop in Meacham, Oregon, on July 3. Events in Portland also included an address by Harding at Multnomah field, a visit to veterans at Hahnemann hospital, and a tribute to Oregon soldiers killed in World War I.
