Negatives documenting company activities, including electrical infrastructure, employees, power generation and distribution throughout Portland, the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Cascade Range. Additional general images include streetcars and trains, street lighting, power line installation, Rose Festival floats, office buildings, car barns and bridges. Of particular note are dam building projects at Bull Run and along the Clackamas River (1910-1930), and early electric stations in Oregon City at Willamette Falls.

Steamship Mormacsea crew

Photograph showing two crew members of the cargo ship Mormacsea. Both men are facing towards the camera, and standing in sunken areas of the floor in what appears to be a machine room. Pipes, levers and wheels can be seen along the walls and in the foreground of the photograph. During WWII, the Mormacsea later served as a troopship (negative 1 of 22).

A power analyzer being reassembled at the old Bonneville Power Administration building in Portland, after previously being moved to its new location at 1001 N.E. Lloyd Boulevard. The company’s move to its new Lloyd location was halted after an inquiry by by Representative John Phillips. A photograph from this series was published in the Oregon Journal on Sunday, March 28, 1954 (negative 2 of 8).

Emily Wood sits at a typewriter and smiles at the camera. On a desk to her right is a cylindrical machine with hoses or wires that come out of it.
