Several men stand in front of the store and 2 men shake hands near the front door. This was one of the first brick buildings constructed in Portland. Legacy collection records indicate this photograph was taken in 1853, the same year the building was constructed. Image has been removed from case and placed in archival board case.

The location of a shootout between FBI agents and Wayne Long, at S.E. 82nd Avenue and S.E. Foster Road. Long had robbed the First National Bank, visible in the distance.
