The ribbon bears the 4-H emblem and the text “Boys’ and Girls’ 4-H Clubs / First / Premium /1940.” The photograph was taken at the Multnomah County Fair in Gresham, Oregon and was published in the August 23, 1940 issue of the Oregon Journal.
