According to the story, the San Francisco delegation was returning a visit by a party from Oregon in February 1928. This photograph was printed in the February 12, 1956 issue of the Oregon Journal under the headline "Training Navajo Youngsters for Northwest Living is Main Project at Chemawa" (negative 14 of 14).
