The photograph was probably taken on August 11, 1934, in the rectory garden at the Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother (The Grotto) in Portland. Cardinal Lépicier arrived in Portland on August 11 after traveling from Rome to attend the Marian Congress, held at The Grotto from August 12-15, 1934. Also see image Nos. 371N4217 and 371N4234.
