As a Public Man, he faithfully discharged, the trusts reposed; as a Father, he was kind and considerate to his family; and as a Mason, he was a Gamaliel, at whose feet the young Mason delighted to sit, and receive wholesome instruction. About the “hour of High XII.,” on the 21st of April, 1865, he was called from Labor below to Glorious Reward and Eternal Refreshment in the Celestial Lodge Above.”
