Watkins, Carleton E., 1829-1916
Collection consists of photographs collected by the Tabor family. Most of the photographs are believed to have been taken or acquired by J. W. Tabor and Margaret Tabor during a trip to Portland, Oregon in 1895. Subjects include various views of Portland, including City Park (now Washington Park) gardens and bear pit, Mount Tabor reservoir, the Portland Heights cable car line, the Willamette River waterfront, and the Morrison Bridge; Celilo Falls; photographs of James Waucop Tabor, Margaret S. McNulty Tabor and her cousin, Alice Bachman Bettner; and a coroner's investigation of a body found in a mining camp near Granite, Oregon. None of the photographers are identified.

Portland Cable Railway Company Cable Car on Alder Street, Portland, Oregon
Black and white photograph of a Portland Cable Railway Company cable car stopped on Alder Street (now Southwest Alder Street). A man stands in front of the cable car and another stands on it in the background. Near the top of the cable car is text that reads "Alder, Fifth, Jefferson, and Fifteenth St." The Portland Cable Railway Company was founded in 1887 and public service began February 22, 1890. The photograph is mounted on a grey mat and a handwritten note below it reads "Foot of Alder St -- Cable Car"
Three-Masted Bark Coloma Docked in Portland, Oregon
Black and white photograph of a three-masted ship beside a dock. A gangplank connects the ship to the dock and two men sit on the dock nearby. The photograph is mounted on a grey mat that was once bound into an album. A handwritten note below the photograph reads "Bark "Coloma" at Portland, Oregon". The Coloma was owned by the Pacific Shipping Company and traveled between Portland and Hong Kong many times between about 1880 and 1900. She sank off the coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, on December 8, 1906.
