Negatives documenting company activities, including electrical infrastructure, employees, power generation and distribution throughout Portland, the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Cascade Range. Additional general images include streetcars and trains, street lighting, power line installation, Rose Festival floats, office buildings, car barns and bridges. Of particular note are dam building projects at Bull Run and along the Clackamas River (1910-1930), and early electric stations in Oregon City at Willamette Falls.

Vancouvery Ferry at Hayden Island

O.T.R.Y. Wagon, Prineville, Oregon

Photograph of a cart or wagon parked outside a house in Prineville, Oregon. A sign painted on the side of the cart reads, "O.T.R.Y. Special Premium, Crook County Fairgrounds." The wagon was likely used as promotion for the Oregon Trunk Railway. Handwriting on the back of the print reads, "Prineville, Ore. only." Embossment on the bottom of the print reads, "Lafler, Prineville, Oregon."

Horse car line on Grand Avenue and East Morrison Street

The wagon is parked in front of the Pioneer Post Office (today the Pioneer Courthouse) in downtown Portland, Oregon. A handwritten note from the back of the paper case reads, "L. L. A handwritten note on the front of the photograph reads, "The Dalles, 1864." A handwritten note on the back of the photograph reads, "From Mrs. S. A. Brown, 1830. Lorenzo Lorain photo, 1856."

Covered wagons in commemorative pageant in Meacham, Oregon

Photograph showing covered wagons pulled by oxen and horses traveling in a pageant in Meacham, Oregon on July 3, 1923. The pageant, attended by President Warren G. Harding and First Lady Florence Harding, was part of events commemorating the anniversary of the first wagon train crossing of the Blue Mountains. The pageant depicted people and events in the history of whites’ arrival and settlement in Oregon. The Oregon Journal published a story about the commemoration and the Hardings’ Meacham visit, headlined “President Dedicates Oregon Trail in Midst of Colorful Setting,” on the front page of the July 3, 1923 edition. Pendleton Round-Up show
