Photograph showing troops marching in formation past crowds of spectators on Sixth Street (now Southwest 6th Avenue) in Portland. The photograph was taken during the War Activities parade on Saturday, April 6, 1918. The parade was among events marking the issuance of the third Liberty Loan bond to finance the war effort during World War I. The Oregon Journal published a related photo, image No. 376G0309, and a story about the parade on the front page of the city edition on Sunday, April 7, 1918. Negatives documenting company activities, including electrical infrastructure, employees, power generation and distribution throughout Portland, the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Cascade Range. Additional general images include streetcars and trains, street lighting, power line installation, Rose Festival floats, office buildings, car barns and bridges. Of particular note are dam building projects at Bull Run and along the Clackamas River (1910-1930), and early electric stations in Oregon City at Willamette Falls.
