By will she left fund for constructing a Presbyterian Church at Fairview a few miles east of Portland, which is known as the Hannah M. Smith Memorial Church. Presented by Mrs. S. C. Dyer, Salem. Rec. No. 270.”

Mrs. S. taught good woman to weave. Mr. S. printed first book in /39 & first press on Pacific coast by blessing of God[.] Nez Perces raised 25,000 bushels yearly[.] 500 in school over 100 converted[.]”
