A hand drawn map depicting the Nez Percé reservation in the Washington Territory. The key shows Native American villages, routes of travel, road stations, and gold fields. The boundary of the reserve is in blue. The Oregon boundary is shown with a red dashed line. The map also contains a table of travel distances between various locations, including Portland, Lewiston, Walla Walla, Orofino, Elk City, and Slate Creek. Relief is shown by hachures.

A map of the Oregon, Washington, and Idaho Territories that depicts the military road from Fort Walla Walla to Fort Benton. The map also shows locations of Native American tribal groups. Relief is shown by hachures.
Mullan, John, 1830-1909
Plans of a sidewheel steamer, Oneonta. The plans may be a depiction of the steamer Oneonta built in 1863 and operated by the Oregon Steam Navigation Company, but features in the plans differ from contemporary photographs of that steamboat. It is unknown whether the drawings are originals or later reproductions. The drawings consist of 3 plans on 1 sheet: a top view, a side view, and a plan of the pilot house and rooms. Sheet is stamped: "Oregon Historical Society - Portland, Oregon / from collection of L. C. Hosford."

A traced manuscript map showing a rough sketch of military marches in eastern Oregon and western Idaho by expedition in the summer of 1864. Military routes for George Byron Currey and Reuben F. Maury's expeditions as well as battlegrounds are hand colored in red. Main trails, mining towns, military forts, and major geographic features are also identified on the map. Relief shown by hachures.

A manuscript map of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers drawn by Absalom B. Harden circa 1865. The map is on three pieces of stationery, pasted together. On the verso of the map there are portions of letters discussing Harden's travel to Oregon and wild animals. Related papers by Harden are held in the Absalom B. Harden diary and letters, 1847-1848, Mss 11 at the Oregon Historical Society.

A single pencil sketch of Camp Watson, Oregon dated to 1865. The First Regiment Oregon volunteer Cavalry maintained Camp Watson from 1864 to 1869 during the conflict with members of the Bannock, Shoshoni, and Paiute peoples known as the Snake War.

Cased photograph featuring a portrait of a woman sitting at a table. She wears a dress with a white collar and rests her right arm on the table. Typed note affixed to the inside of the case reads, "Mrs. Anna Johnson Sylvester, Pioneer of 1858, Taken in Portland in 1866." Notes in legacy collection records speculate this photograph may have been taken by Joseph Buchtel. Case is a book-style case made of leather.
