Burning the "Kaiser," Silverton, Oregon

A large crowd gathers in an empty lot at the southeast corner of Oak and North Water Streets in Silverton, Oregon. A coffin in the middle of the crowd has smoke rising out of holes in the top and writing on the coffin reads "William II." A handwritten note on the negative reads, "Burning the 'Kaiser' Nov. 11, 1918 Silverton, Or." Some in the crowd have American flags and it appears they are celebrating the armistice with Germany that ended World War I.
