Handwritten note on back indicates the gym was also the recreation hall, and that this was taken December 31, 1945. The Tule Lake Relocation Center was one of ten American concentration camps to which Japanese Americans were forcibly removed and incarcerated.

Photograph of a painting depicting 2 ships sailing side by side. The ships are the S.S. Great Northern and the S.S. Northern Pacific. Both ships were built by the Great Northern Pacific Steam Ship Company for the SP&S Railway. They served to transport passengers and freight between terminals in Astoria, Oregon and San Francisco, California. Handwritten note on the back of the print reads, "Twin palaces of the Pacific. Great Northern and Northern Pacific, owned by GNPSS Co. Sister."
