The photograph had the following caption: “After a ribbon at the 37th annual Multnomah county fair will be many fine livestock entries like this Ayreshire calf, posed by Bettylou Bisch of Portland. Four-H members walk off with a good share of the blue ribbons each year for their home-grown calves.” The 1943 fair opened on Monday, August 23.
