Grisham, William M.

Born October 18, 1864, he married Marial "Mamie" Thayer in October 1887. He died several months later, January 10, 1888, in Gilliam County. He had been an active member of the Lebanon, Oregon, community, and served in its fire department.

Parrish, Thomas Mapel Andrew Jackson

Thomas Mapel Andrew Jackson Parrish, second child of Edward Evans and Rebecca (Mapel) Parrish, born in Morgan County, Ohio, on January 9, 1830. He came across the plains with his family in 1843-44. He married Eleanor Boers on December 15, 1855, and they settled in Marion County, having five children. He worked as a trader, then moved to Rock Creek, Grant County, to work with stock. He died in Wheeler County, Oregon, in 1894.

Marial "Mamie" R. (Thayer) Grisham, married William M. Grisham on October 16, 1887, Linn County, Oregon. He died January 10, 1888, in Gilliam County. This photograph must have been taken just after their marriage. She was active in the teaching community at Lebanon, Oregon.

Knox, Alexander Smith

Alexander Smith Knox, Oregon pioneer of 1845. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1825. He married Mary A. S. Parrish, of Marion County, in 1850, and settled in Linn County, west of Albany, near Knox's Butte, so named for him. Due to impaired health, they moved to San Jose, California, in 1870, and remained there until his death, in 1899.

Mary Frances Slavin, born November 25, 1853, the daughter of John and Emma (Ross) Slavin. She married Richard C. Prince on February 2, 1879, in Portland. She died in June 1936.

Dennie, Oliver

Roundtree, James H.

James Harrison Roundtree, born in Hart County, Kentucky, in 1815. He married Emeline C. Riddle in Knox County, Illinois, and they had several children before coming overland, first to Oregon, then to Lewis County, Washington Territory. They were early settlers in what is now called Grays Harbor. His daughter, Demaris, was the first Caucasian child born in Chehalis County. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Black River, and then to Centralia, where they remained. For other biographical information, see preceding image of Emeline Roundtree.

Hanna, Joseph A.

Joseph A. Hanna, pioneer of 1852, and one of the first Presbyterian ministers in Oregon. He settled in Marysville (now Corvallis) and helped to form the first Presbyterian society in Portland, but that dissolved in 1853. He married Esther Belle McMillan.
