Records also indicate a stamp in the edges of the window mat reading, "Scovill Mfg. Co. Superior, Stamford, Conn. No. 810." Typed label enclosed with the image reads, "G. N. DOTY, Artist, Stevens Point." John Simonis is also pictured in OrgLot1414_0242S011_01. Case is made of leather and wood.

Framed portrait of General Joseph Lane, seated and wearing a suit. He looks at the camera. Typed note enclosed with the image reads, "This is a very rare portrait of General Joseph Lane. It was presented to the Oregon Pioneer Association by Mrs. Winifred Mosher, his youngest daughter, in 1900. In response to an inquiry regarding the date when it was taken, she said she thought it was in 1855 or 1856 -- at any rate, during the Indian war in those years -- and by Joseph Buchtel in Portland. The portrait was called an ambrotype."

Town of Brooks on a part of the Brooks' claim Ambrotype taken at Butteville in 1855 by Lobdell, artist." [This image is a tintype, not an ambrotype.] Handwritten note on envelope reads, "Family settled in Marion Co, north of Salem (now Brooks)." Case is made of leather and wood.
