Group portrait featuring 8 people standing in 2 rows. Four men sit in the front row while 4 women stand behind them. Handwritten note enclosed with the image reads, "Mrs. A. R. Shipley, Mrs. P. B. Chamberlain, Miss Elizabeth Failing (Mrs. Conner), Mrs. Leland, Mr. Shipley, Mr. J. B. Wyatt, Mr. Harley McDonald, T. B. Trevett. Choir at Congregational Church in about 1855, Portland, Oregon." Legacy collection records indicate that Mr. and Mrs. Adam Rudolph Shipley was Celinda Hines, the niece of Gustavus and Harvey Hines and daughter of Obediah Hines. Case is made of wood and pressed leather.
