History

Claire Argow, nee Angevin (1903-1997) was born in New York and grew up in Boston. She attended Yale where she was one of the first three women to earn a law degree there. She was a longtime criminologist, attorney, activist for improved correctional facilities and onetime executive director of the Oregon Prison Association.
