United Fund Fundraiser Campaign with Children

Five children stand on different steps of a staircase, each holding up a sign with one word written on it. Beginning at the top of the staircase, the signs read, "Thank you for helping us." The children smile and look up at the camera. The photograph is taken at an angle, looking down at the children. They are kindergartners who attend the Volunteers of America day nursery for working mothers. This is part of a fundraiser for the United Way. The caption on the negative sleeve reads, "United Fund Thank You stunt with children - Diane Hart, Wayne Michigami, Debra Cote, Bruce McKay, Debra Mayer." This photograph was published in the Oregon Journal on October 30, 1958 (negative 1 of 2).
