Pickford is holding a bouquet of roses that were presented to her by Portland Mayor Joseph K. Carson. The Oregon Journal published a story, headlined “Sweetheart of America Visits Here,” on the May 17 front page, along with image Nos. 372A0459 and 371A6086. According to the story, Pickford stopped briefly in Portland while traveling from Hollywood, California, to Seattle, Washington, to perform on the stage in “Coquette.” Image note: The name “Pickford” is written on the negative and is faintly visible on the left side of the image.
