Charles Edward Pares Wright was born in Portland, Oregon, in 1906. He graduated from Yale Law School in 1932 and passed the Oregon State Bar in 1933. He was a lawyer in Portland and worked in the regional office of the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission in Seattle, Washington, from 1937 to 1943. He later served on the board of the Portland Junior Symphony, was vice president of Catlin Hillside Schools, and was director of the Travelers Aid Society, the Portland Art Association and the Portland City Club. He died in 1999.

Wright, Al (Albert E.), 1942-

Albert E. Wright was born in Healdsburg, California, in 1942, and he grew up in Cloverdale, California. In 1965, he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He worked as an engineer for Los Angeles Water and Power. He then relocated to Oregon and worked for the Oregon Water Resources Board during the administration of Governor Tom McCall. After McCall left office, Wright worked several other jobs in water resource management in Oregon and Washington. In 1981, he joined the Pacific Northwest Utilities Conference Committee, and became its executive director in 1985. He retired in the mid-1990s, and began a consulting business in Portland.

Wood, Erskine B. (Erskine Biddle), 1911-2001

Erskine Biddle Wood was born in 1911. He was the son of Erskine Wood and the grandson of Charles Erskine Scott Wood. He attended Harvard College and Harvard Law School, earning his law degree in 1936. Wood became a lawyer who specialized in maritime law at Wood, Tatum, Sanders & Murphy in Portland, Oregon. During World War II, he served as an administrator in the Navy.

Wood married multiple times. While at Harvard in the 1930s, he and Caroline Elizabeth Hoffman married. They later had three children and divorced in 1956. In 1959, he and Virginia Kuerten Tooze were married. They later had two children and divorced in 1969. Later that same year, Wood and Doreen L. Plympton were married; they divorced in 1974. Sometime later, Wood and Ellen Story Fretz were married. They divorced in 1997. In 2001, Wood and Doris H. Spaulding were married. Wood died in 2001.

Wood, Erskine

Erskine B. Wood was born in the Vancouver Barracks in Vancouver, Washington, in 1879. He was the son of Portland, Oregon, lawyer Charles Erskine Scott Wood, whose biography he authored. In 1901, he earned a law degree from Harvard University. In 1903, he and Rebecca Baird Biddle were married; they later had four children. He joined his father's law firm in Portland and specialized in admiralty law. He also served as admiralty counsel to the United States Shipping Board in 1920. Rebecca Baird Biddle died in 1951. In 1953, Wood and Louise Pippel Cunningham were married. He retired from his law practice in 1982, and died in 1983 at the age of 104.

Nora Baseel Womack, nee Nora Martha Baseel, was born in Portland, Oregon, in 1905. She grew up in St. Helens and in 1933, she moved to Portland, where she worked for the telephone company. She and Robert William Womack were married in 1948. She died in 1998.

George Frank Wingard, Jr. was born in Amboy, Washington, in 1935. His family moved to Lakeview, Oregon, in the early 1940s. He attended the University of Oregon for a few years, then transferred to Oregon State College (now Oregon State University). He earned a degree in production technology in 1958. He and Rhea Henault were married in 1960; they later had three children. Wingard began his own construction business at age 25. He served on the Eugene City Council from 1967 to 1969. He was a Republican politician and represented Lane County in the Oregon House of Representatives from 1969 to 1970. He then served in the Oregon Senate from 1971 to 1982. He ran unsuccessfully for state treasurer in 1980, and again in 1992.

Milton Woodrow Wilson was born in Portland, Oregon, in 1923. He studied art at the Museum Art School in Portland, now the Pacific Northwest College of Art. In 1952, he and Marial Yvonne Patterson were married; they later had three children. Wilson was one of the founders of the New Gallery for Contemporary Art in Portland, Oregon, which was open from 1959 to 1962. He died in 2004.
