Owen Chase "Red" Dunning (1904-1982) was born in Hoquiam, Washington. He was an accomplished musician and played in numerous orchestras in the Portland, Oregon area, including Herman Kenin's Multnomah Hotel Dance Orchestra and the Portland Symphony Orchestra. In 1929 he became Assistant Orchestra Director to Misch Pelz for KOIN, and later Orchestra Director in 1944. He also had several television shows in the 1950s until retiring in 1969. After retiring, Dunning focused on nature photography.

Barbara Vorse Fealy, nee Barbara Bertha Vorse, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1903. In 1925, she earned a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Illinois. She worked as a landscape architect in Denver, Colorado, and in Utah. In 1934, she and Martin Hoag were married; they later had one child. After Hoag died in 1935, she and Willam Fealy were married in 1946; they later had one child. Shortly after their marriage, the Fealys relocated to Oregon and Barbara Fealy worked as a landscape architect in the Pacific Northwest. Her Oregon works include Caitlin-Gabel School, the Leach Botanical Garden, Timberline Lodge, Sokol Blosser Winery, and Waverley Country Club. She died in 2000.

Thomas Richard Getman was born in Luverne, Minnesota, in 1941. He graduated from Wheaton College in Chicago, Illinois, in 1963. After college, he worked with Young Life ministries to establish education programs in New England until 1976. He earned a master's degree in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. He interned for U.S. Senator Mark Hatfield, becoming his legislative director and specializing in African foreign policy from 1978 to 1985. He then joined World Vision, a humanitarian aid organization, in 1985.
